Native or cross-platform? Picking the right approach for your app

One codebase or two? The answer depends on your features, budget and how much you rely on the device.

Cross-platform has grown up

Modern frameworks deliver smooth, near-native experiences from a single codebase. For most business apps, that means faster delivery and lower ongoing cost.

When native still wins

Apps that lean heavily on device hardware, such as Bluetooth accessories, advanced camera features or demanding graphics, can benefit from going fully native.

Plan for the long term

Factor in maintenance, OS updates and how quickly you will need to ship new features. The cheapest app to build is not always the cheapest app to own.
